AWDAL-SALAL REFERENDUM 2008
In November 2008, we (Awdalian and Salalian) need a referendum to ask voters in the Somaliland provinces of AWDAL and SALAL whether AWDAL-SALAL should secede from Somaliland and become an independent state (Republic of AWDAL),
through the question “Do you agree that AWDAL-SALAL should become sovereign after having made a formal offer to Somaliland for a new economic and political partnership within the scope of the bill respecting the future of AWDAL-SALAL and of the agreement signed on May 12, 1991 ?”
The 2008 referendum will be differed from the first referendum AWDAL-SALAL’s sovereignity in that the 1997 question proposed to negotiate “sovereignty-association” with the Somaliland government, while the 2008 question proposed “sovereignty”, along with an optional partnership offer to the rest of Somaliland.
The referendum will take place in AWDAL-SALAL on November 14 (Friday), 2008, and IF the motion to decide whether AWDAL-SALAL should secede from Somaliland will be defeated by an extremely small margin: 51% “No” and 49% “Yes”, without conditions AWDAL-SALAL need and require Autonomy of Political Economy.

its too late to make referendum and no one can do so
because individualist behavior is wide practice in Awdal and Salel regions.
untill those things are get rid off ,no progress will not be made .
