Somaliland recognition is the key to peace in the Horn of Africa: Somaliland government has done the right thing in rejecting to sit with the factions of Somalia’s chronic wars.

The so-called invitation by the congressional subcommittee on Africa was an ambiguous and erroneous invitation. We all know the Republic of Somaliland came of age and reached a point of no return. That so-called conference has failed when Somaliland declined the invitation. For starters Somaliland is an independent sovereign state backed by the full support of its people. Somaliland has conducted one parliamentary, municipal and presidential elections.

The second presidential elections supposed to take place on September 29 of this year. We know the IGAD dictatorships are the biggest impediment to Somaliland’s recognition. We know the neighbors the Rayaale government regarding as friends are not friends but enemies. Somaliland has already survived the isolation and economical sanctions the IGAD despots and Egypt imposed on it. Moreover, all the efforts to create a non existent country called Somalia became an exercises on futility. Somaliland is only accountable to its people and not to anybody else. With or without recognition Somaliland is a sovereign independent state. The people of Somaliland must stay unified and keep supporting their country.

Independence is decided by the people of Somaliland. The coming Kulmiye government needs to wage a relentless campaign telling the world that the Horn of Africa peace and stability depends on independent, sovereign and recognized Somaliland. The Kulmiye government must tell the world the IGAD/UN drama has miserably failed and the key to the Horn of Africa peace lies with Somaliland recognition. Without an independent, sovereign and recognized Somaliland, there will be no peace in the Horn of Africa. Several dictators who has no mandate from their people can’t suppress Somaliland’s will.The people of Somaliland will always will be ready to vigorously defend their independence and sovereignty. They have paid a heavy price to reacquire their independence from a brutal tyrant, and they are ready to keep their hard won Independence at any cost. Somaliland Independence is non negotiable, irreversible and permanent. The coming Kulmiye government must put the feet of our neighboring dictators to the fire. Any country that wants to have a mutual cooperation with Somaliland must deal with it individually. Any so-called invitation enmeshed with the warring factions in Somalia must be rejected and also condemned. There is no war in Somaliland and Somalilanders have no reason to be involved with the eternal wars and conflict in Somalia. Somaliland has nothing to fear from illegitimate and fragile dictators who came to power by the parel of the gun. Somaliland is strategically located country that has the ability to force and pressure the neighboring dictators to recognize Somaliland, or Somaliland will not cooperate with them in matters such travel, security, trade and other issues. The coming government is expected to do the above named things.
